FuelTally

Privacy policy

Last updated: 1 July 2026

FuelTally is built around a simple rule: your data belongs to you and stays on your device.

What we collect

We collect nothing about you. FuelTally has no user accounts, no analytics and no tracking of what you do in the app. Your vehicle data is never sent to us — we have no server to send it to. The one exception is advertising, described below, which is handled by Google and requires your consent first.

Where your data lives

Everything you enter — vehicles, fill-ups, costs, repairs, reminders, documents and photos — is stored locally in the app's private storage on your phone. There is no FuelTally server.

Backups

Android's built-in device backup (Android Auto Backup) may include FuelTally's data in your own Google Drive backup, controlled by your device settings and readable only by your Google account. We have no access to it.

Advertising

FuelTally shows a banner ad supplied by Google AdMob.

Consent comes first. Before any ad is requested, you are asked for consent through Google's official consent form (User Messaging Platform). Nothing is requested from the ad network until you have made that choice. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time in the app under Settings → Ad privacy. If you decline personalised ads, you will still see ads, but non-personalised ones.

For advertising purposes Google may process your device's advertising identifier (AAID), your IP address and the approximate location derived from it, device and app information, and your interactions with the ads shown. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy, as an independent controller.

What we never share: your vehicle data — fill-ups, costs, repairs, mileage log, documents and photos — is not shared with Google or anyone else. It stays in the app's private storage on your phone.

You can reset or delete your advertising identifier at any time in Android under Settings → Google → Ads.

Purchases

FuelTally is free. There are no in-app purchases and no subscription.

Notifications

Service reminders use local notifications scheduled on your device. They do not involve any network communication.

Permissions

Each permission is requested only when the related feature is first used, and every feature works without granting the others.

Your rights

You can export your data from the app at any time, and delete all of it by clearing the app's data or uninstalling. Since we hold nothing, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.
